NAME: Alison Olson Cox
JOB: immigration attorney
FAVORITE MUSIC TYPE / GROUP: i like a lot of music but lately I could listen to De la Soul, any time, any place.
CHILDREN / PETS ?: Yes! 7 and 4 year old children and a 12 year boxer.
FAVORITE VACATION SPOT: Yes.
HOBBIES: quilting, yoga, crossfit, parenting.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU DONE CROSSFIT AND WHAT MADE YOU TRY IT OUT ? 2.5 years. My husband forced me to because he's knows I am an athelete in disguise.
WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT CROSSFIT AT FIRST? I thought I was too big, too old, too slow and too out of shape to do any of it.
DESCRIBE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT CROSSFIT AND HOW IT HAS IMPACTED YOUR LIFE: I love seeing what my body can do. I love lifting heavy weights. I love seeing other people lift super heavy weights. I love spending time with amazing people doing difficult workouts - especially at 6am. And, I love seeing new people think they could never do a certain movement, and then nail it!

FAVORITE MOVEMENT: Rowing and wallballs - They're both like January - awful and amazing at the same time.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU DONE CROSSFIT AND WHAT MADE YOU TRY IT OUT ? CF for 4 yrs. Wanted to try something new and functional, and not have to worry about my own programming!
WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT CROSSFIT AT FIRST? First thoughts were "wow, I have a lot to learn!"
DESCRIBE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT CROSSFIT AND HOW IT HAS IMPACTED YOUR LIFE: I like that the movements are functional, the way that humans are supposed to move. It's constantly varied--you rarely will get the exact same workout. When you do, it is exciting though because it's commonly a benchmark workout--so you can see your improvements and your weaknesses. I like that 4 years in, there are new goals to be achieved. I like that there are things I can do now that I couldn't even do in high school. I also like the community aspect of it. I've met some great friends for life
FAVORITE WORKOUT: Favorite workouts usually would involve usually something with a barbell, and a few other movements.
