Do you want it ?

Published January 9, 2016

The new year has arrived and with it, the resolutions - eating better, getting to the gym, losing weight, etc.  All are great ideas.

The Question is.... how much do you want to accomplish what you set out to do ?  It's not enough to simply have a goal, but you have to work at it.  How are you going to get where you're going ?  What is your path ?  What steps are you going to take ?

We have set up a goal board at the gym.  We want you to take advantage of it and put up a goal or two.  This will keep you accountable and your coaches will work with you in achieving your goal.  Tell them what your goals are and we can set you on the right path.

Your goals need to be SMART

S - Specific

M - Measurable

A - Attainable

R - Realistic

T - Timely

Set you goals to 3 months or less - it keeps you on track.  Also, if you do have a much larger goal ( say lose 50 pounds or accomplish a muscle up in 9 months ), then set smaller weekly and monthly goals - for example losing 6 pounds per month.  For the muscle ups, getting ring dips, working on the pass through, etc.  If you goal is 10 pull ups, work on adding one every couple of weeks.  You get the picture.

Focus on achieveing your long term goals by setting and achieving your smaller goals on the way there.
