Water, water, everywhere...

Ok - here is a post that may offend some people who are very into sipping water all day from those plastic water bottles. Personally, I find it wasteful and really unnecessary. Here's why. No other animal in the world sips water all day. They drink a bunch and then leave. You don't see dogs doing a lick or two every 15 minutes. They wander over, dunk their tongue in the water for about 2 minutes and end up with half of it on the floor. You do not need to sip water all day. Stop it. Here is another reason ( especially if you are concerned with the environment ) Americans used about 50 billion plastic water bottles last year. However, the U.S.'s recycling rate for plastic is only 23 percent, which means 38 billion water bottles that end up in rivers, lakes, landfills, yards, woods, etc. That's a lot of plastic ending up somewhere.... "So, smarty-pants, how am I supposed to drink 8+ glasses of water per day with constantly sipping on a water bottle ?" Easy - drink 2 glasses with each meal ( 2 x 3 meals a day = 6) *** this will also make you less hungary *** - drink 2 glasses before bed - drink 2 glasses before your workout ( 30 mins to an hour, depends if you get cramps like I do if I drink water before a workout ), during your workout when it's a long one or really hot and humid, and then at least 2 glasses after. - And if you feel you need more, drink a glass with your snacks ( at least 2 snacks per day ). You can use filtered water, jugs of "Spring" water, or just man up and drink it from the tap. Trust me, tap water is fine. I don't know how we became so dependent upon special water for our needs, but whatever. For the love of Earth, please stop using plastic bottles. Drink water with every meal and snack, before, during, after workouts and if needed, before bed. You'll easily fulfill your water requirements for the day. And it's super simple to create that new habit !!!
